A memorial gathering to honor and celebrate his life will be held at Joldersma and Klein Funeral Home on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Kalamazoo Animal Rescue.
Of Portage, passed away on July 16, 2024, he had just celebrated his twentieth birthday. Brendan was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on June 17, 2004, the son of Robert and Cynthia (Wolf) Sheppard. Brendan was kind, loving and dedicated. He had a warm smile, wonderful sense of humor and was a joy to know. Quiet and reserved, Brendan enjoyed simple pleasures in life. He loved spending time with family and friends, was compassionate to animals, loved cats and volunteered his time at the Kalamazoo Animal Rescue. He liked movies, was a Star Wars fan and enjoyed gaming. A resilient young man he achieved his goal of graduating from Portage Central high School, Class of 2023, and was planning to further his education at trade school. Brendan worked hard at the Portage Jimmy Johns where he was a valuable and well-liked member of the team. Brendan was a loving son, brother, student and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Bob and Cindy; siblings, Darcy; twin sister, Camille and Connor Sheppard; extended family and friends. He was preceded in passing by a brother, Patrick Sheppard; grandparents, Julie (Peter) Wolf, Mary (Charles) Sheppard; uncle, Charles Sheppard.
