He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Burns and Marguerite Burns (McCluskey); and his siblings, Donald Burns, James Burns, Joseph Burns, Helen Young, Peggy Conklin, Bernie Fry and Janice Hoffus.
He is survived by: his daughter Denise Conklin (Mike) of Kalamazoo; and his grandchildren, Jessica Wismer (Shawn) and Sean Conklin of Grand Rapids. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
