Loretta L. Parkey, 77 of Brutus, MI
Loretta L. Parkey passed away, January 6, 2022, at McLaren Hospital in Petoskey after a long battle with diabetes.
She was born to Louis and Irene (Shenoskey) Massey, August 10, 1944. Loretta was a member of the Burt Lake Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians of Burt Lake where she was the tribal enrollment clerk. She loved to play bingo in Cheboygan and Indian River. She also loved doing Genealogy work.
She married Ken Parkey, November 2, 1963. She is survived by her husband Ken, her daughter Renae (Greg) La Pointe of Florida, her son Ken (Randy) at home. Grandsons Ken and Jason LaPointe and Great Granddaughter Payton (Ken) of Florida. Brother David Massey of Brutus. She is also survived by nieces, Melissa (Miengun) Pamp of Mount Pleasant, Nicole Massey of Brutus, Becky Meyer of Detroit, Nephew David Massey Jr. of Kincheloe and Cory Meyer of Brutus and many great nieces and nephews and may cousins.
Loretta was preceded in death by her son Duane Parkey, July 9, 2021. Her parents, Louis and Irene Massey, sister Doris Massey and brother Bill Massey.
Funeral Mass will be held, April 5, 2022, 11:00am, at St. Mary's Church, 3192 Indian Rd., Brutus MI. Luncheon will follow at Parkey's field, 4371 Indian Rd., Brutus, MI.
