He was predeceased by: his parents, John Solon and Mary Solon; his son Jeffrey Solon; his friend David Glines; his siblings, Stanley Solon, Edward Solon and Jennie Trojanowski; and his sister-in-law Dolly Solon.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Davis Solon; his sons, L. Michael Solon (Julie) of Waterford and Steven Solon (Maureen) of Highland; his grandchildren, Nicholas Solon (Julie) of Kentucky, Andrew Solon (Rachel) of Lansing, Melissa Palmer (Nick) of Franklin, Amanda Solon of Lapeer and Samantha Bremmer of Ypsilanti; his great grandchildren, Eleanor and Benjamin Brenner; and his nephews, Stosh Solon and Brian Solon. He is also survived by several other nephews and nieces.
