He was predeceased by: his parents, Verna Schilz (Reed) and Howard Schilz; and his sister Juanita Schilz. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Schilz (Gillett); his children, Kaylin Rhoades (Shawn), Stephen Schilz (Sonya), Paul Schilz (Phetsamone), Faith Byykkonen (Roger) and Timothy Schilz (Stacy); and his sister Sharon Moore of Bloomington, IN. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Grace Church, Nashville, MI.
