She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Smith and Vera Warren Smith; her children, Elizabeth Bursey, Early Bursey, Samuel Bursey, Theopolis Bursey, Michael Bursey and Charles Bursey; and her brothers, Emmett Smith Jr., Rufus Smith and Luther Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Vera Pickett, David Bursey, Yvonne Calhoun (Melvin), Vicki Porchia, Earlene McClain, Lennice Bursey, Annette Bursey, Anthony Bursey and Loretta Bursey; and her goddaughter Gwen Hadley Marks. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
