It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Allan Merkle of Monroe, Michigan, who passed away on January 31, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Merkle and Dorothy Guczwa; his grandparents, William and Florence Merkle; and his grandson Jordan Frederick.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Kay Merkle (Gonyon) of Monroe; his daughter Lisa Merkle (Leon) of Marion, Michigan; his stepchildren, Christene Frederick of Monroe and Joe Frederick of Cadillac, Michigan; his brothers, Larry W. Merkle (Marilyn S.) of Monroe and Ronald Merkle (Brenda) of Monroe; his grandchildren, Chelsey Slevoski (Justin Davis) of Leroy and Jarid Frederick of Reed City, Michigan; his great grandchildren, Paisley and Daisy Davis; and his nieces and nephews, Jodi Gelso (Chris) of Monroe, Brandi Foley (Bill) of Monroe, Brian S. Merkle (Tammy) of Monroe and Michael Merkle (Penny) of Monroe. He is also survived by nine great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins.
