He was predeceased by: his wife Madelyn Smith; and his siblings, Neal Ely, Leah Treece and Vivian Goins. He is survived by: his sons, David Ely (Deborah), Mark Ely and Gary Ely (Gayle); his brother Kenneth Ely (Pauline); and his grandchildren, Kathy Cornett (Brad), Ryan Ely (Stephanie), Dustin Coressel, Adam Ely (Jen), Craig Ely (Megan), Garrett Coressel, Matthew Ely (Kylie), Paige Coressel (Ashley Flynn), Scott Ely (Ashley) and Aspen Bahm (Paul). He is also survived by twenty-two great grandchildren.
