He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Carter and Jessie Carter (MacIsaac); his wife Constance Sousa; his son Hugh Carter; his grandson Sam; and his brother Ken.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Carter of Centerline, MI, Jeffery Carter (Debbie) of Ferndale, MI, Steven Carter (Cindy) of Roscommon, MI, John Carter (Kari) of Thibodaux, LA, Beth Ann Heath (John) of Ferndale, MI, William Carter (Gina) of Ferndale, MI and Constance Fotiu (Angela Perteet) of Ferndale, MI; and his sisters, Mary Stock (Bob) of Walled Lake, MI, Florence Murphy of Ferndale, MI, Peggy Beaupied of Ferndale, MI and Tootsie Lambert (Jerry) of Mayville, MI.. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
