He was predeceased by: his parents, James McVay and Myrtle McVay (Jordal); his son James Patrick McVay; and his siblings, Jim and Mary.
He is survived by: his wife Myrna Duncan; his children, Karen Walter, Tim McVay (Manuela), Mike McVay (Ingrid) and Thomas McVay (Anna); his grandchildren, Michelle, Ian, Kendra, Morgan, Kelsey, Megan, Dustin, Aurora, Elizabeth and Olivia; his great grandchildren, Avery, Rose and Chloe; and his sister Marlene Aiken.
