He was predeceased by: his wife Mona Teets; his daughter Barb Atwell; his great grandchild Hunter Atwell; and his close friend Ann Will. He is survived by: his children, Thomas Woern, James Woern (Marie) and Cindy Waxer; his grandchildren, Christopher Atwell (Tina), Chad Atwell (Madia), Douglas Woern, Michelle Cossey (Shawn), Grant, Travis Woern and Jacob Waxer; his great grandchildren, Kayla, Ashley Perry, Ian Atwell and Chloe Cossey; and his sister Mildred Fox (Richard). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post # 181.
