He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Higgins and Florence Finch Higgins. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ruhl; and his children, Jayne Walters (Jerel) of Austin, TX, David of Haslett, MI, Steve (Vicki) of Port Huron, MI and Rob (Teri) of Mayville, MI. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mayville United Methodist Memorial Fund or McLaren Hospice.
