He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Charles Austin and Morgie VIolet Austin (Glidden); his son Robert Austin; and his brother Dale Austin. He is survived by: his wife Carla Austin (Enzian); his children, Marcie Dunn (Paul), Julie Lawley, Steven Austin, Edward Austin and Owen Austin; and his brothers, Randy Austin and Jack Austin. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

“I met Don while giving his horse, Sugar, the best care that the Sugar Shack Crew could give his horse that we could during the last few months of her life.We set up a FB page&we got donations&advice for her care from all over the world.Don was ALWAYS picking on me in a fun way.Don was a character.He was a good man, faults&all.I will never forget him & his red & white polka dot hat & the twinkle in his blue eyes.God gave me a true gift.Thank you, Carla for your kindness except for the snakes :)”
