He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Wayne and Bill. He is survived by: his significant other Meredith Mitchell; his parents, Cheryl Benson and Brian Benson (Nancy Doyle); his siblings, Zachary Benson, Sara Benson and Elizabeth Benson; his grandparents, Barb Morren, Bonnie and Rupe Benson; and his uncle Steven C. Benson. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
