He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmoneta Nowland Sr. (McCauley) and Edward Nowland Sr.; his son Derrick C. Nowland; and his siblings, Sarah Nowland, Robin Nowland, David Nowland, Cozette Seeley, Robert "Bob" Nowland, Richard Ashby and Darwin Johnson.
He is survived by: his former wife Shirlene A. Smith; his wife Shirlene "Smitty" Nowland; his children, Dominic Nowland (Tiffany) and Charity Cherven (Mike); his grandchildren, Heather Beebe (Levi), Scott Nowland (Tabitha), Ryan Holmes (Amanda), Michael Nowland, Kyra Cole, Isabel "Issy" Cole, Zidane Cherven and Derrick Cherven; his great grandchildren, Dominic, Benjamin, Emma, Pagan and Opie; and his siblings, Marie Johnson, Larry Seeley (Sheryl), Carmoneta Romatz (Stan), Gary Nowland (JoAnn), Frank Nowland (Anna), Beth Ashby-Hummel (Larry), Rita Moggo (Glen), Suzie Nowland, Carl Nowland (Diann) and Kandi Breininger (Bill). He is also survived by his wife, Surviving family members.
