He is survived by: his wife Barbara Hoogerwerf; his children, Laura Gray (Larry McHaney), Cindy Steffy (John) and John Hoogerwerf (Jane); his grandchildren, Michael Mapes-Pearson, Chelsea, Josh Steffy, Ellen, Sarah and Annie Hoogerwerf; and his sister Mary Vanderkaay.
