It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Loretta Ann Tierney of Macomb, Michigan, who passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Schmidt and Emma Schmidt (Hartley); her husband Gordon; her son Tom Matejzel; and her daughter-in-law Shelly Tierney.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Bowron (Jim) of Macomb, Tim Tierney of Farmington Hills, Terry Tierney (Loree) of Harrison Township and Jeff Tierney (Jennifer) of Ferndale; her grandchildren, Randy Couwlier (Lara) of Washington, Matthew Couwlier (Tina) of Imlay City, Tyler Tierney of Ferndale, Travis Tierney of Ferndale, Nicholas Matejzel of Rochester, Patricia Creger of Roseville, Ashley Creger of Memphis and Carol Sturm (Josh) of Mt. Clemens; her great grandchildren, Isabella Couwlier, Madelyn Couwlier, Seth Couwlier, Cody Couwlier, Jayce Creger, Alexa Sturm and Avery Sturm; and her sisters, Paula Vault, Martha Schmidt and Judy Smart.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Muir Funeral Home (296 S Main St, Romeo, MI 48065). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location.
Memorial Donations can be made in Loretta's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
