With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Derek Duane Newton of Macomb, Michigan, who passed away on November 26, 2023 at the age of 40. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brother Justin Newton; and his grandparents, Betty, Wallace Newton, Roscoe and Neva Sutherland.

He is survived by: his wife Michelle Newton; his children, Madelyn and Jax; his parents, David Newton (Doreen) and Lori Sutherland; his brothers, Mark Hanford and Nick Hanford (Jerrica); his father-in-law Paul Measle (Patricia); and his sisters-in-law, Stephanie Nanni (Chris), Sandra Farmer, Kelly Pummill (Jeremy) and Anna Berg (Neil). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and incredible friends.
