He is survived by: his children, Dean DeGrote (Deb) of Lowell, Mark DeGrote (Robin Baker) of Smyrna, Beth DeGrote of Grand Rapids and Chris DeGrote (Selena) of Lowell; his grandchildren, Anthony DeGrote (Stacy) of Hudsonville, Hailey Seaman (Jacob) of Lowell and Justin DeGrote of Lowell; his great grandchildren, Julia Kelly, Kristin Viss, Skyla and Ryan DeGrote; his sister Lois Erickson (Curt) of Slayton, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Rosella DeGrote of Fulda, MN and Dolores DeGrote of Pipestone, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
