He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Kopek and Marie Kopek (Szumiak); and his brother Wallace Kopek. He is survived by: his sons, Travis Kopek, Nathan Kopek (Sheila) and Ben Kopek (Lisa); his grandchildren, Kylee, Charlee, Ella, Andrew and Braxten; his brothers, Henry "Hank" Kopek (Pat) and Richard Kopek (Nancy); and his wife Alice. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
