He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert George Armstrong and Alzina Armstrong (Tacia); his sons-in-law, Anthony Hartwig and Arthur Thomas; and his stepdaughter Juleen Wesholski.
He is survived by: his former wife Marjorie Ann Sharboneau; his close friend Rose Anne Yulle; his wife Rose Anne Armstrong (Yulle); his daughters, Nancy Stoops (Jeff), Rita Hartwig and Laura Thomas; and his stepson Brenton Miks (Mimi). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.
