He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Cooley and Grace Cooley; and his siblings, Maxine, Mildred and Jerry.

He is survived by: his spouse Shirley; his sons, David Cooley (Joanne), Stephen Cooley (late Sharon) and Gregory Cooley (Michelle); his sister Bernice Rynearson; and his grandchildren, Gregory (Amanda), Lisa, Jade (Lance), Brad (Jana), Stephen, Craig (Sarah) and Cody (Brianna).
