John Franklin Braxton Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Franklin Braxton of Lapeer, Michigan, who passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Braxton and Daisy Braxton (French); his former wife Patricia (Matney); and his siblings, Lorena F. Van Meter, George O. Braxton, Bertie L. Braxton, Avis I. Rivett and Nancy E. Ritzman.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Marie Braxton; his sister Daisy L. Bradley; and his sons, Rick Braxton (Barbie) and Dave Kowalski (Terri). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any contributions be made to Great Lakes National Cemetery… for the flags and wreaths for our veterans' headstones, 4200 Belford Rd, Holly, MI 48442.
