He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Smith and Betty Smith (Janter) of Keego Harbor; his siblings, Charlene and Chuck; and his nephew Corby Gerou.
He is survived by: his wife Kim; and his children, Vaughn of Lapeer, Rebecca (Joe) of North Branch and Sean Carlson (Audra) of Grand Blanc. He is also survived by grandson; four nephews; one niece; and three step-grandchildren.
