He was predeceased by: his stepfather Juan Ramirez; and his sons, Daniel Arroyo and Jesus "Jesse" Arroyo. He is survived by: his wife Guadalupe Arroyo; his children, Hector Arroyo Jr. (Marisol), Juana Ransom (Thomas) and Javier Arroyo (Veronica); his mother Maria Ramirez; and his sisters, Nora Ramirez and Sandra Ramirez. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
