He was predeceased by: his mother Joyce Barrett; and his stepfather Paul Travis. He is survived by: his children, Teri Totten (Steve), Brooke Peiffer-Orlich (Ken) and Ryan Barrett (Christine); his grandchildren, Tawni Faust (Matt), Ayriel Totten, Taylor Casaday (Kolby), Gabriel Peiffer and Dante Barrett; his great grandchildren, Parker, Paisley, Piper and Charlie; his sisters, Judy Haist and Dyan Griswold (Vern); and his cousins, Ruthie and Sandra. He is also survived by several cousins; and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to City Church, 6228 Bishop Rd., Lansing, MI 48911, in his memory.

“My wife and I were neighbors with AL for several years in Kansas. He always had a Mt. Dew waiting for me when I got home from work out on his patio table. Eventually Pepsi because I didn't care for Dew. He taught me several things about the "old school " electricity. We are very sorry for your loss and we are grateful for the time we spent with him.”
