He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Rudolf and Grace Meissner; his children, Marsha Humphrey of Charleston, SC, John Meissner (Susan) of Mt Pleasant, SC, David Meissner (Mary Jane) of Brookfield, WI, Ed Meissner (Michelle) of Troutdale, VA and Mary Riojas (Ed) of Byron Center, MI; and his wife Mary Louise. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
