He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thues Abbas and Lena Abbas (Hundt); his wife Ruby Abbas (Reed); his son Derold Ray Abbas; and his stepchildren, Larry Buhl (Laura), David Buhl (Lynn), Vicki Franckoviak (Don) and Kathy Freeman. He was also cherished by six grand children and 7 great grand children.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Bethany Baptist Church.
