She was predeceased by: her parents, James McCord (Joe) and Ethel McCord (Loser); her sister Ruth Covey; and her brothers-in-law, Ed Covey and Stant Persinger.

She is survived by: her husband James Carlton; her daughter Alissa Carlton-Brinks (Joshua); her grandson Bowie Brinks; her sister Grace Persinger; and her brother-in-law Jack Carlton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
