It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine Delma Van Laanen of Lake Odessa, Michigan, who passed away on November 28, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her brother-in-law Duane Gamble; her husband Ward Van Laanen (Arch); her son Dewayne; and her siblings, Dorothy Gamble and Delbert.
She is survived by: her daughters, Vicki Erickson (Mark) and Elizabeth Baecker (Uli); her grandchildren, Kyle Erickson (Stephanie), Natalie Deatsman (Cody) and Alex Erickson (Megan); her great grandchildren, Layla, Grady, Sloan, Warren Erickson, Grayson and Saylor Deatsman; her brother Gary Nickel; her sister-in-law Judy Nickel; and her friend Elaine Garlock. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
