It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James H. McDowell of Kalkaska, Michigan, who passed away on July 31, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gurvis McDowell and Jewell McDowell (Newell); and his brother John "Bubba" McDowell. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his children, Paula Simmonds (Eric) and Bill McDowell (Jen); his grandchildren, Derek Simmonds, Kolten and Kyle McDowell; and his siblings, Claudine Stephens, Harper McDowell and Joan Priddy.
