He was predeceased by: his parents, Martha Potila (Hintsala) and Albert Potila; his brothers, Dale, Dennis and Doug Potila; his stepsiblings, Mark LeClair, Greg, Gary LeClair and Carol; and his sister Dawne Potila.
He is survived by: his children, Dean Potila (DeeDee) and Dawne Potila; his grandsons, Dean Potila Jr. (Kelley) and Dione Potila (Meghan); his great grandchild Nolan Potila; his stepsiblings, Steve LeClair (Joan), Tom Laitanen and Mary Ellen Smith (Casey); and his sisters-in-law, Patti Potila and Lynn Potila Walimaa. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and numerous close friends.
