He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Shonyo; and his siblings, Phillip Rahm and Karin Vincent. He is survived by: his close friend Barbara "Kay" Smith; his children, Lars Rahm, Nils Rahm (Jennifer), Robert S. Rahm, Kristin Rimal (Sanjiv) and Trina Murdoch (Andrew); his grandchildren, Sage Rahm, Asa Rahm Rimal, Ana Stina Espinosa (Rocky), Margaret Gottlieb, Per Rahm (Jessica), Linnea Rimal, Cyrus Gottlieb, Seth Rimal (AnJenae), Ava Rahm, Gray Rahm, Tilly Rahm, Elaine Rahm and Robert "Buck" Rahm; his great grandchildren, Rishi Espinosa, Aria Rimal, Sukhi Espinosa, Kavya and Alana Rimal; and his close friends, Joanne and Pat Wloszczynski.
