She was predeceased by: her husband Loren Hirdes; her mother Fay Smedley; her brothers, Greg Smedley, Tim Smedley and Chris Smedley; and her siblings-in-law, Ken Hirdes (Beatrice), Floyd Zoerman, Dale Bordewyk and Russ Hirdes.
She is survived by: her father Gordon Smedley; her sisters, Nancy Swartz (Frank), Amy Dykema and Lisa Hicks (Jamison); her siblings-in-law, Candy Smedley, Leona Zoerman, Shirley Bordewyk and Karen Hirdes; her children, Jamie Dekker (Doug), Loren Jay Hirdes (Danielle Chilvere), Casey Hirdes (Kelly), Jessica Herrmann (Dan) and Angela Hirdes (Brad Blankenship); her pet Sansa; and her grandchildren, Devan, Mason, Kersten Dekker, Taylor McConnell, Landon, Lucas Herrmann, Wilder, Juniper Hirdes-Chilvere and Zoey Metzger.
