He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Johnson and Florence Johnson; his siblings, Elizabeth Starrett, Herb Johnson and James Johnson; his mother-in-law Genevieve Jackson; his nephews, Daniel Woudwyk and Carl Reed; and his niece Jennifer Starrett.
He is survived by: his wife Tammie Johnson; his children, Mitchell Johnson II, Anna Johnson, Marissa Johnson, Samuel Johnson, Matthew Johnson and Anthony Johnson; his grandchildren, Cameron Johnson, Cornelius Johnson, Nicholas and Charlotte Granzotto; and his siblings, Jeanette Burchfield, Ruth (Fred Cronberg), Viola (Freddy Garza), Joy (Jim Kievit), Mary (John VanKampen), Ken Woudwyk, Janie (Mike Avery) and Jim Tharp. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
