He was predeceased by: his brothers, Leroy Van Ommen (Louise), Don Van Ommen (Henrietta) and Elwin Van Ommen (Ethel); and his in-laws, Phyllis, Austin Schrotenboer and Shirley Weener.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Deb Busscher, Jim De Young of Zeeland, Lori, Dave Smallegan of Holland, Chris and Nikki Van Ommen of Holland; his great grandchildren, Jodi Busscher, Barry King, Heather Smallegan, Kellie Smallegan, Colt Englesman, Madison Van Ommen (Collin Berghorst), Colton Van Ommen (Tarrah Barnes) and Fisher Van Ommen; and his in-laws, Norm Weener, Cal, Emily Weener, Paul and Ginny Weener.
