He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Charles and Fern June Heintzelman (Siel); his former wives, Carol Rennaker, Kathy Heintzelman and Rebecca Carpenter; his siblings, Marilyn Sillman, Charlene Walker and Gerald "Chuck" Heintzelman; and his grandson Leslee.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Sue Heintzelman of Harrison; his children, Robert "Charlie" Dean Heintzelman Jr. (Sherrie) of Harrison, Keith Wilson (Toni) of Ishpeming, Larry "Meat" Rennaker of Clare, Michael "Mike" Heintzelman (Jennifer) of Harrison, Jenny Heintzelman of Harrison, Michelle Parish of Warren, Chris Benjamin of Harrison and Autumn Painter of Phoenix; his siblings, Evelyn Barnes (Jerry) of Auburn, Connie Berg of Clare, Marcella Ozanich of Lansing and Glenn Heintzelman (Kathy) of Mecosta; and his siblings-in-law, Selina Ney of Harrison, Dewey Adams of Lake Orion, Jerry Lee Painter of Harrison, Loren Painter of Michigan and David Painter of Waterford. He is also survived by twenty two grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren.
