He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Cardy and Esther Cardy (Pine); his wife Valerie N. Sims; his children, Albert Edward Cardy and Karen Swindlehurst; and his brothers, Clifford Cardy, Art Cardy and Ralph Cardy.
He is survived by: his son John Cardy (Carol) of Lansing; his grandchildren, Shaun Cardy of Lansing, Joshua Cardy (Megan) of Lansing and Sharon Swindlehurst; and his goddaughter Lori Kraus (Cardy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
