William C Rands III Obituary
We are sad to announce that on June 20, 2021, at the age of 77, William C Rands III of Grosse Pointe, Michigan, born in Saint Louis, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Rands Valente, Sergio Valente (Margarida Ventura), William Endicott Rands (Dianna Simpson Rands) and Stash Capponi; his grandchildren, Rebecca, JJ Valente, Will and Charlie Rands; and his pet Cinnamon.
Bill served on numerous boards within the Detroit area, including Henry Ford Health System, Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society, Detroit Historical Society, Yankee Air Museum, Grosse Pointe Historical Society and Grosse Pointe Library Foundation. Other organizations included the ACLU of Michigan, Planned Parenthood of Michigan, The Nature Conservancy of Michigan, Team Angels Foundation, The Grosse Pointe Academy, Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and Cradle Foundation.
