He is survived by: his wife Janet Fischer; his children, Wendy VanDoeselaar (Brian) and Alfred Fischer (Melanie); his grandchildren, Rebecca Davis (Jon), Katie VanDoeselaar, Tyler VanDoeselaar (Sasha), Avery Fischer (Carmen), Clark Fischer (Schuyler), Kira Fischer and Kalyssa Fischer; his great grandchildren, Joshua Davis, Isabella Davis, Harrison VanDoeselaar, Lana VanDoeselaar and Damian Fischer; and his siblings, Martin Fischer (Corrie), Janet Hoekstra, Anne Joosse (Len), Margaret VanderHeide, Ann Wiersma, Gertie DeVries, Charles DeVries (Jenny), Alice Postma, Christina Kloostra and Joanne DeVries. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In honor of John and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Crossroads Prison Ministry and to Faith Hospice.
