He is survived by: his wife Nadine Rose Bachert (VanHuisen); his children, Bettina and David Mortensen; his grandchildren, D. J. and Jaron; his children, Jason, Ruth Bachert and Emily Rose; and his siblings, Jo Tackett, Sandy Cobb and Kim Bachert (Pat). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
