He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell VerMurlen and Anne VerMurlen (Zee); his granddaughter Kelly Klinesmith; and his brothers, Jack and Lee VerMurlen.
He is survived by: his wife Marion Olson; his children, Robert VerMurlen (Michele) and Sharon Klinesmith (Thomas); his stepchildren, Katherine Spencer and Thomas Kokonas; his grandchildren, Jennifer Lewis, Melissa VerMurlen, Kristy VerMurlen-James (Josh), Daniel Weidner (Candice Wolosek), Joseph Weidner (Porsha) and Marial Coulter; his sister-in-law Dorothy VerMurlen; and his close friend Hubert Ostertag. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
