She was predeceased by: her parents, George Steele and Hazel Steele (Wirick); her husband John "Jack" Sutherland Jr.; her daughter Jackie Walker; her sisters, Betty Prescott, Carrie Luella Wheeler, Eleanor Cronkright and Pauline Osborne; and her son-in-law Richard DeWachter.

She is survived by: her daughters, Judy DeWachter of Gladwin and Melissa Cammack (Vince) of Black River; her grandchildren, Michelle Martin (Virgil), Shannon Williams (Keith), Hunter Cammack, Andy Cammack and Jamie Walker; her great grandchildren, Pheonix, Gage, Addyson, Harley, Tanisha, Xander, Miley, Milah and Andrea; and her sister Phyllis Kramer (Douglas) of Minnesota.
