He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Potter and Helen Potter (Segelken); his former wife Lois Miller of Hale, MI; his wife Vivian Potter (Walsh) of Gladwin; his children, Steven Potter (Mary) of Cincinnati, OH, Carolyn Rice (Robert) of Dunkirk, OH, Donald Potter (Katherine) of Farmington Hills, Rebecca McPherson (Patrick) of Tecumseh, Gregory Potter (Samantha) of Kalkaska and Jonathan Potter (Amy) of Rochester, MN; his stepson Michael Walsh (Eileen) of Beaverton; his daughter Marietta; and his grandson Brandon Rice. He was also cherished by 22 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Assembly of God Church in Gladwin.
