He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gardei and Betty Gardei (Purcey); and his sister Donna Gillespie. He is survived by: his children, Patty Davis (Don) of Newaygo, Fred Gardei, Jr. of Newaygo and Liz VanderLinde (Jim) of Norton Shores; his siblings, Joyce Davidson (Gene) of Holton and Rodney Gardei (Jody) of Big Rapids; and his brother-in-law Doug Gillespie of Drummond Island. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to the funeral home to help with expenses.
