He is survived by: his parent Irene McNier (McDermitt); his wife Patricia McNier of Freeland; his children, Michele Shafer (Chris) of East Lansing, Brad McNier (Lisa) of Sycamore and Genee McNier of Freeland; his grandchildren, Mariah Shafer of East Lansing and Allison McNier of Sycamore, Ill.; his great grandchild Suan Piang-Shafer of East Lansing; his brother David Eastman; and his sister-in-law Judy Eastman.
