She was predeceased by: her father Otto Herzog; her siblings, Marian Hecht (Herzog), Eileen Herzog and Marvin Herzog; and her brothers-in-law, John Ahrens Sr. and Lloyd Hecht.
She is survived by: her husband James VanDevelde (Jim); her sons, Mark VanDevelde (Debbie Williams) of Whitehall, MI, Michael VanDevelde of Alexandria, VA and Craig VanDevelde (Cari Ann) of Hope, MI; her grandchildren, Andrew, Nathan, Dane VanDevelde, Courtney, Kyle Fishback, Kennedy, Kaitlin, Quinton VanDevelde, Conner (Kristen) and Morgan VanDevelde; her sister Lynn Ahrens; and her sister-in-law Teresa Herzog. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
