He was predeceased by: his father J. B. Barnes; his wife Mary Gaiser; his brother J. Randall Barnes; and his nephews, Michael Barnes and Terry Barnes.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Jennings (Steve) and Alicia Jill Hales (Dave); his grandchildren, Justin Hales (Melissa), Allison Hitsman (Josh), Kimberly Soetaert (Joe) and Todd Jennings (Kirsten); his sister-in-law Nancy Folger; and his niece Jeanne Barnes. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
