He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wilbur C. Thompson and Kathryn M. Thompson; his wife Elizabeth; his son Stephen Jr.; his siblings, Russell Thompson (Susan), Mary Kay Otto (Howard), Anne Marie Takach (Doug) and Paul Thompson (Barbara); and his sister-in-law Helena Kampwerth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Red Cross.
