She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Bates and Callie Bates (Russell); her husband David Wayne Whisler; her son Joseph Michael Whisler; her daughter-in-law Marcia Whisler; and her siblings, William Bates, Norma Anderson and Robert Bates.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Whisler, Jean Walker (Kevin) and Lisa Sobczak (Robert); her grandchildren, Monica House (Robert), Eric Hood (Molly), Scott Whisler (Sara), Tiffany Culler (Derek), Robert Sobczak, Spencer Sobczak (Marian) and Annelise Sobczak; and her brother Donald Earl Bates. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the Flat Rock First United Methodist Church or Downriver Veterans Honor Guard.
